New Computer Setup
Here are some things to think about when setting up your new computer-
Your data
Obviously the most important thing to bring from your old machine is your data. Your pictures, documents, music, etc… Much of our data these days is kept online, so to gain access on your new computer all you have to do is sign in to whatever account or accounts that keep your files (Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, etc…).
Your Programs
Another item is your programs. Software that you use to do what you do. While it is easy enough to copy and paste a picture file, programs aren’t so cooperative. Unfortunately, you cannot “copy and paste” a program from one computer to another and expect it to run correctly. In most cases, the software must be reinstalled on the new machine, which means that you must have access to the installer for each of the programs that you wish to use (including any keys, licenses, etc… to validate the program).
